The inventor of the Tian Xian

Professor Wang Zhen Guo

Professor Wang Zhen Guo

Director of the Zhen Guo Cancer Research Center at Beijing's Zhen Guo Cancer Hospital. Creator of the traditional Chinese herbal formula "Tian Xian."

Professor Wang Zhen Guo, a medical researcher specializing in cancer, was born in Tonghua City, Jilin Province, People's Republic of China, in 1954. He graduated from Tonghua Medical College in 1975.

Dedication to Cancer Patients

In October 1972, during his first day as an intern at Liudaogou Hospital in Tonghua City, Professor Wang Zhen Guo was shocked and saddened by a cancer patient whom he couldn't help. He then made a solemn vow to himself to use his knowledge and abilities to help cancer patients. What came to his mind at that time were the traditional Chinese herbs, which were abundant in the Changbai Mountains of his hometown, Tonghua.

The Journey to "Tian Xian" Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine

Nearly 20 Years of Research by Professor Wang Zhen Guo

After Professor Wang Zhen Guo witnessed the suffering of cancer patients, combined with his familiarity with Chinese herbs and the permission from the College of Public Health to study both Chinese and Western medicine concurrently, he conceived the idea of "using Chinese herbal formulas, prepared from herbs he was familiar with, to treat cancer."

Professor Wang began by collecting herbs, traditional formulas, and folk remedies rumored to be effective against tumors. He traveled to various sources to gather these formulas and herbs, spending about 6-7 years. The number of herbs and formulas he collected reached over 1,200 types. He then further developed them, building upon the wisdom of previous generations and integrating the experiences of later generations, adapting them for present-day application until the finished product was developed.

Professor Wang adheres to the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) known as Biànzhèng Lúnzhì (辩证轮治), which involves a thorough examination of the body to determine the appropriate treatment method. He emphasizes a holistic approach, preserving healthy elements while eliminating toxic waste, and restoring the body's balance. He has categorized cancer treatment into four approaches:

1. Clearing Heat and Removing Toxins
2. Dispersing Blood Stasis, Promoting Smooth Blood Circulation
3. Dissolving Lumps and Relieving Pain
4. Tonifying Qi, Nourishing Blood, and Strengthening the Body's Yuan Qi

Chinese medical treatment for cancer, based on these perspectives, effectively adjusts and treats the symptoms of the disease.

Path to Success

Professor Wang Zhen Guo began his research into Chinese herbal medicine as an intern. He collected over 1,200 types of herbs and experimented with mixing them into formulas 23 times until he finally achieved the Tian Xian formula.

• August 1983: Successfully developed the Tian Xian formula.
• 1986: The formula received government support as a science and technology research project for continuous development.
• August 1988: The Tian Xian formula was registered as an anti-cancer drug, officially approved by the Ministry of Public Health of the People's Republic of China.
• 1991: Distribution began in several countries through the distributor China-Japan Feida Company.

Awards and Recognition

1. December 1989: The Tian Xian formula received three medals at the 38th Brussels Eureka World Invention Expo in Brussels, Belgium.
2. 1990: Professor Wang Zhen Guo was awarded "Outstanding Young Expert of China," "One of China's Top 10 Young People," and the "National Science and Technology Excellence Award."

Due to the effectiveness of the formula, numerous institutions in various countries have collaborated or conducted research, including:

• National Taiwan University Hospital
• The National Health Research Institutes (Taiwan)
• New Drug Development Research Center Inc (Hokkaido, Japan)
• School of Chinese Medicine, The University of Hong Kong

This herbal formula has been the subject of 24 research topics, with 16 articles published in medical journals. Furthermore, since 2011, Professor Wang Zhen Guo's traditional Chinese herbal formula has been included in the National Cancer Institute (NCI) drug encyclopedia in the United States.

Professor Wang Zhen Guo has been invited to over 17 countries, including the United States, Japan, Europe, and Southeast Asia, to share his knowledge and exchange insights on herbal research for cancer patient care. He has also collaborated with institutions such as the National Cancer Institute of France, St. Gallen Hospital in Switzerland, and various cancer specialists in Japan to foster inter-laboratory cooperation, thereby strengthening scientific research and development. To date, Professor Wang Zhen Guo's Tian Xian products have provided care to hundreds of thousands of cancer patients in over 60 countries worldwide.
